New Mexico State University’s diversity, excellent engineering programs and affordable education are what drew Angela here from her home in Nairobi.
"I think NMSU has a good learning environment that provides opportunities for well-rounded students to not just receive a good education but to learn about life," she says. "Faculty members challenge and encourage you to diversify your thinking and educational experience. They want you to take advantage of opportunities and they are available to help you through it all."
Muhanga, who is involved with the Institute of Industrial Engineers and NMSU’s Black Programs, is also learning about the area’s different cultures, art and landscape.
"Las Cruces has nice weather and a remarkable landscape. This gives you an opportunity to be outside almost all year," says the sophomore industrial engineering major. "It’s a beautiful and tranquil location."
