What Can I Do With a Major In Agriculture and Extension Education?

Agricultural Extension Education careers are for students interested in education and leadership in agriculture for youth and adults. It combines the technical aspects of agriculture and science with teaching.

4-H agent
Agricultural Extension agent
Educational Specialist/Trainer of agricultural business
Educational Specialist/Trainer in industries and organizations
Cooperative Extension Service agent

Most Agricultural Extension majors are directed towards becoming Cooperative Extension agents and Agricultural Education majors directed towards teaching. Modern Extension agents in rural areas focus on the needs of farmers, their families, and their communities. In more metropolitan areas, CE agents respond to small gardeners, city planners, school personnel, transportation engineers, park superintendents, and others with horticultural questions.
