About Us
The Resource Center as seen from Stewart Street
The Sexual and Gender Diversity Resource Center was created with the purpose to provide a safe place on campus for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning community, and those who support them, at New Mexico State University. It provides a welcoming place for all students, faculty, and staff on campus with special emphasis on providing resources and support for the LGBTQ community. NMSU recognized the need for such a center and we offically opened our doors April 23rd of 2007.
The Sexual and Gender Diversity Resource Center at New Mexico State University is intended to be a safe and supportive environment for all students, staff, and faculty with an emphasis of resources for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and inter-sex community. This also includes allies and those who are questioning their sexual orientation and/or their gender identity. The Resource Center welcomes a diversity of racial, ethnic, religious, political, and cultural values. The Resource Center is committed to serving the campus and the larger community with professionalism and esteem. The Sexual and Gender Diversity Resource Center offers encouragement and referral with the purpose of enhancing the wellbeing and meaningful experience in the New Mexico State University community.
