Students are drawn to NMSU’s Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Sexuality Studies because it offers an inclusive, interdisciplinary space to explore issues of identity, power, and social justice. The program empowers students to think critically about gender, race, sexuality, and class through lenses of activism, culture, and policy. Many appreciate the strong sense of community, close faculty mentorship, and the opportunity to connect academic work with real-world advocacy. Whether pursuing careers in education, law, public health, or social change, students value how the program prepares them to be thoughtful, equity-minded leaders.

This program consists of 120 credits. To earn this degree, you need to complete all university degree requirements, which include General Education requirements, Viewing a Wider World requirements, and elective credits, with 48 credits in courses numbered 300 or above. There is no second language requirement for this degree.
