The Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science program from NMSU prepares you for professional work with social and community agencies that serve individuals and families and other programs serving children and families.
Approved by the National Council on Family Relations, this program guides you to learn about communication skills, human growth and development, family dynamics, parenting and child guidance skills, family economic issues, and research and theory. Upon graduation, you can apply to become a Certified Family Life Educator.

The BS in Human Development and Family Science program consists of 120 credits. To earn this degree, you need to complete all University degree requirements, which include General Education requirements, Viewing a Wider World requirements, and elective credits, with 48 credits in courses numbered 300 or above.
