New Mexico State University (NMSU) is committed to providing equal access to information provided on the web to the widest possible audience, including individuals with disabilities, and that complies with best practices and standards as defined by Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act, with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) per the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible for people with disabilities.  

NMSU has a number of contributors that produce content on the website and makes every effort to ensure that all software systems and technology conform to the web content accessibility guidelines listed above. When an issue is brought to our attention, NMSU will work with the appropriate department and/or vendor to remediate the situation. We ask that you please reach out to us if you have trouble accessing any part of our website. 

Accessible Technology

NMSU strives to ensure that electronic and information technology resources are accessible to all students, faculty, staff, and the general public, regardless of disability. Creating and maintaining accessible technology is an ongoing responsibility and priority at NMSU.

Compliance will be maintained as follows: 

  • - Marketing and Communications (MARCOMM) will monitor compliance within the university website.
  • - Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) will monitor compliance with employee accommodations and general access.
  • - NMSU Global Campus will monitor compliance with Instructional Technology.   
  • - Information Technology Services (IT) will monitor compliance with Information Technology. 
  • - Disability Access Services will monitor compliance with student accommodations and general access.   

Third-Party Content

While we make every effort to ensure our website is fully accessible; however, some third-party content or external links may not meet accessibility standards and are beyond NMSU's control. We encourage you to report any accessibility concerns regarding these external sources to us so that we can bring that to the attention of those that have authority to address the concerns.

Compatibility

We strive to ensure compatibility with commonly used assistive technologies and browsers. However, due to the rapidly evolving nature of technology, we cannot guarantee full compatibility with every assistive device or browser configuration.

Please let us know the URL (web address) of the material you tried to access, the problem you experienced and your contact information including your name, email address and phone number. This information will allow us to replicate your problem. 

NMSU will acknowledge receipt of your request and provide a solution within a reasonable time frame.
