Preparing Future Fashion Leaders: NMSU’s Program Combines Merchandising Strategy, Marketing, and Brand Management with Design Fundamentals
Gain expertise in apparel construction, textile science, fashion promotion and retail management, complemented by coursework in art, accounting, business administration and marketing. Our program offers creative opportunities like participation in events like the Remade Runway Sustainable Met Gala Fashion Show, showcasing upcycled designs and promoting environmental awareness. With a curriculum designed to foster creativity, technical skills and business acumen, our graduates are equipped to lead and innovate in the global fashion industry.

The Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and Design consists of 120-123 credits. To earn this degree, you need to complete all University degree requirements, which include General Education requirements, General Education requirements, Viewing a Wider World requirements, and elective credits with 48 credits in courses numbered 300 or above.

- CTFM 1110 - Fundamentals of Fashion
- CTFM 2120 - Fashion Illustration
- CTFM 375 - Fashion Buying
The required coursework includes completion of a minor in Marketing from the College of Business. The minor in marketing consists of 18 credits.
